I took pictures in Singapore and China while I worked in Singapore as a journalist, and taught English in Shandong, Northern China. This is a selection of images taken from 2007 to 2008.
I outgrew pair after pair of ballet shoes when I was a kid -- only to stop dancing when I got older. I was being rebellious.
Years later, I've accumulated a lot of mileage, flying between Singapore and NYC, and driving up and down the East Coast between New York and Washington DC in a mad dance of sorts -- and fallen in love with dance and dance studios all over again.
Moving -- like dance -- takes so much energy and is always over so soon. If I can't dance the way I could, why not do the next best thing: write about it?
